Brazilian industrial production: growth record in 2010

According to data provided by ' IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) the economy Brazil closed 2010 with an increase of 10.5%, marking the highest growth since 1986. Also according to the Institute, which examined 14 different states, the best result was achieved in the State of Espírito Santo (+22.3%), followed by Goiás (+17.1%), Amazonas (+16, 3%), Minas Gerais (+15.0%) and Paraná (+14.2%).
The data show two phases. The first phase covers the period March 2009-May 2010, in which there is a continuous increase in production at around 22.0% with a focus on consumer durables (46.5%) and capital goods (29.0 %), both favored by the tax incentives granted by government, followed by intermediate goods (21.8%) and consumer non-durables and seeds (10.2%).
The next stage, covering the period from June to December 2010, marking an overall decline in the production of 1, 5%, intermediate goods (-0.9%), consumer durables (-1.3%) , capital goods (-1.4%) and consumer goods and semi-durable (-1.9%).
Taking the year 2010 compared to the previous twelve months, the first half reached a growth of 16.2%, while the second half by only 5.6%. Among the products that have been driving the economy include: motor vehicles (24.2%), machinery and equipment (24.3%), metallurgical primary (17.4%), mining (13.4%), other chemical products (10.2%), food (4.4%), rubber and plastics (12.5%) and beverages (11.2 %).
The 2010 was a particularly prosperous year for the Brazilian economy that will continue the positive trend in 2011.
